Powerhouse Plaza latest to join frenzy

RALEIGH - Developers are planning a hotel-and-office tower in downtown's Glenwood South entertainment district, intensifying a burgeoning battle for center-city visitors.
The 10-story Powerhouse Plaza would include ground-floor shops and restaurants, about 400 parking spaces, 85,000 square feet of offices, topped with a 134-room hotel and rooftop bar, said J. Cross Williams Jr., president of Raleigh-based Williams Realty & Building, a partner in the development.
